BOARD OF DIRECTORS   BY-LAWS   MEETING PROCEDURES   OTHER BRZs

Board of Directors
Any rate-paying member of the Victoria Crossing BRZ can sit on the Board of Directors and become part of the voice of businesses in the Victoria Crossing area. Nominations for the Board of Directors are received from the membership prior to the Annual General Meeting (October/November of each year) with rate-paying members electing the Board of Directors at the AGM. Directors are elected for a two-year term, serving a maximum of three consecutive terms. A minimum of nine to a maximum of fifteen members are elected to the Board.

For more information about the current Board of Directors, the Director nomination process, or how to get involved in the Board, please contact us.

Committees of the Board
Listed below are the working committees of the Victoria Crossing BRZ and an outline of the projects that each committee deals with. Any member or associate member of the BRZ can join a committee, and it is not necessary to be a member of the Board to sit on a committee. This is a good option for those members who wish to have direct input into the BRZ operations, but who are not able to commit to sitting on the Board of Directors.

Urban Development & Planning - Urban planning (Area Redevelopment Plans, transportation, parking), Development Permit and Land Use Amendment review, heritage preservation, Stampede expansion, Land Use Bylaw review.

Marketing & Communications
- Area promotion, public relations, establishment and implementation of Marketing Plan, member communication, website development & maintenance.

Public Safety & Social Issues - address social issues & public safety issues, crime prevention education seminars, crime prevention projects (e.g., CPTED study, CSO program), Cash Corner relocation, social agency relationships.

Anyone interested in joining a committee can contact us to do so.

Associate Members
Associate Members of the Board are appointed annually at the first regular meeting of the Board following the AGM. The Associate Members are not BRZ members, but represent the organizations that the BRZ works closely with (i.e. Beltline Community Association, City of Calgary, Calgary Police Service, Calgary Exhibition & Stampede).
